JCIP: queued logging - already done?

Holger Hoffstätte-2

The very excellent JCIP book refers to a queueing logging mechanism as
example for various performance tricks, blocking queues etc. Surely
someone must have done this as a configurable log4j drop-in already? Any
pointers?
